Eagle Projects







Each Eagle project is unique and is planned and directed by the Scout.  Eagle projects are a great way for Scouts to learn to work together as a team as well as enjoy fellowship and build camaraderie. And of course, the ultimate beneficiary is the public or organization that receives the benefit of the Eagle project! Below are a few recent projects completed by Troop 770 Scouts. 


Dylan's Eagle Project




In October of 2023, Dylan designed and oversaw scouts building and installing benches for Johnson Elementary.



Thomas' Eagle Project




Thomas supervised scouts in building a picnic table and two benches which he designed for Trinity United Methodist Preschool (of which he is a proud alumni) in August of 2023.



George's Eagle Project




In June of 2023, George led scouts in building a kiosk he designed for an outdoor classroom area at Bellemeade Park in the City of Richmond, VA.



Hatcher's Eagle Project




Hatcher built a garden and flagpole for Kanawha Recreation association to be used at swim meets and dive competitions. It rained the entre time, June 2023.



Henry's Eagle Project




The beneficiary of this Eagle Project was Derbyshire Baptist Church. Henry lead scouts building raised planters for their garden, September 2022.



Nicholas' Eagle Project




Nicholas orchestrated his Eagle project in August 2022, leading scouts in building two chairs and a table for Sacred Heart Center.



Charlie's Eagle Project




In June of 2022 Charlie led scouts, friends, and his brothers in building the "scooter" carts he designed for Trinity United Methodist Preschool of which he is a proud alumni.



Grant's Eagle Project




Grant's Eagle project involved leading scouts in building picnic tables he designed for Pinchbeck Elementary School, Henrico, VA, May 2022.



Mason's Eagle Project




Mason led scouts building two "music walls" for the preschool playground at First Presbyterian Church in January of 2022.



Samuel's Eagle Project




Scouts met in the shop of Causey Davis in November of 2021 to build (at Samuel's direction) two "little free pantries" outdoor pantries designed by Samuel for Blue Sky Fund, Richmond, VA. In Loving Memory of Causey Davis, 1936-2023, Go Hokies!



James' Eagle Project




Scouts gathered on a beautiful November day in 2021 to execute (under his guidance and leadership) James' plan for three benches for Yaupon Place in Northside Richmond.



Lucas's Eagle Project




Lucas designed some very cool benches out of tree trunks/logs along with a blackboard which scouts built and installed in October of 2021 for the Faison Center in Henrico County, VA.



Charlie's Eagle Project




The Reinhardt House at St. Mary's Hospital was the beneficiary of Charlie's Eagle project in October 2021: a bench and a little library along with some landscaping.



James' Eagle Project




In the fifth Troop 770 Eagle project in May of 2021, scouts under James' leadership repaired and rehabbed the ferry and ferry docks at Camp Hanover. Everyone had fun crossing the lake afterward!



Silas's Eagle Project




In May of 2021, Silas led scouts in constructing and installing benches which he designed at Deep Run Park in Henrico County. Park-goers and neighbors were thrilled!



Nathaniel's Eagle Project




Camp Hanover was the beneficary of Nathniel's Eagle project. The project involved building kayak racks for the camp in May of 2021.



Preston's Eagle Project




Also on May 1, 2021, Preston held his Eagle project where Scouts built and installed two kiosks he designed for Laurus Park, City of Richmond, VA. 



Sam's Eagle Project




Sam conducted scouts and friends building five benches which he designed and planned for Forest Hill Park (City of Richmond, VA) on May 1, 2021. 



Rob's Eagle Project




One of the most unique Eagle projects in a long time, Rob planned and designed (then led scouts in building) benches for Richmond Fencing Club, February of 2021.



Brayden's Eagle Project




Brayden planned, designed and led scouts in building benches and a platform for an outdoor classroom at Johnson Elementary, Henrico County, in December of 2020.  This enabled students to have outdoor classes during COVID-19.



Mason's Eagle Project




Mason designed and built a kiosk for Deep Run Park's (Bicycle) Pump Track, Henrico County, in December of 2020



Ashton's Eagle Project




For Ashton's Project, Scouts built picnic tables and painted existing benches for Coal Pit Learning Center in Henrico County, in November 2020



Ben's Eagle Project




Ben designed and led scouts in building a storage shed for Johnson Elementary School in Henrico County



Ren's Eagle Project




Ren lead scouts in building picnic tables and a planter for the Anna Julia Cooper Episcopal School in the City of Richmond. 



Luke's Eagle Project




Scouts constructed a gaga ball pit for Luke's Eagle Project at Fair Oaks Elementary School on December 21, 2019.



Quinn's Eagle Project



On November 16, 2019, Quinn supervised the construction of two picnic tables and four benches for Tuckahoe Elementary School for an outdoor classroom .  Scouts met beforehand to pre-cut wood.

Scouts and friends gathered on November 16, 2019 to build the tables and assist in the classroom construction and landscaping. Bushes and flowers will be planted in the spring of 2020.



Oliver's Eagle Project



Oliver started off his Eagle project with fundraisers at Christian's Pizza and hosting a pancake breakfast at his house. He then supervised scouts who tore down the old garden and flagstones at Rivers Edge Elementary. Scouts built a new flagstone wall and filled it with soil and herbs on August 24, 2019.



Spencer's Eagle Project



Starting August 7, Spencer directed and supervised constructing a sustainable garden at Tuckahoe Elementary School. The work involved getting rid of the old, unused garden and adding new plants to make a sustainable garden, a long with a compost pile. A sitting area was also constructed. The project ended August 21, 2019. 



Tyler's Eagle Project



Tyler supervised the construction of six picnic tables for Gayton Elementary School for an outdoor classroom .  Scouts met on several days beforehand to pre-cut wood.

Scouts and friends gathered on March 16, 2019 to build the tables and assist in the classroom construction and landscaping.



Jack L's Eagle Project




The McGuire VA Medical Center had been wanting a Purple Martin house at the Phyllis E. Galanti Arboretum since the arboretum was dedicated in 2016.  Jack designed and lead scouts in building the Purple Martin House as well as doing landscaping and constructing a raised flower bed. The project was completed on February 3, 2019.



Zack's Eagle Project




Zack designed and lead scouts and friends in building trash and recycling enclosures for Freeman High School.  The project was completed January 19, 2019.



Addison's Eagle Project




Addison designed and directed Scouts in building a number of picnic tables for an outside church classroom. Two of the picnic tables were smaller, youth-sized. The construction was done on October 27, 2019.



William's Eagle Project




On October 8, 2018 William lead scouts and friends in building two doghouses for Gracie's Guardians, a dog rescue organization. The houses will be used by volunteers who keep rescue dogs on a temporary basis until new permanent homes can be found.



Carr's Eagle Project




Carr designed and supervised the construction of displays about opioid awareness. The displays were installed at Tuckahoe Middle School. Carr also oversaw Scouts doing research and making posters about opioid addiction. The displays were constructed on September 2, 2018.


Coalter's Eagle Project




Coalter designed and supervised Scouts and friends in building four benches for Elmcroft of Chesterfield, an assisted living facility. They pre-cut and pre-drilled holes in the week beforehand and met on February 4, 2017 to assemble them.


Ethan's Eagle Project




Ethan planned four picnic tables for the outdoor classroom and garden at Trevvett Elementary School.  Scouts met to pre-drill and cut the pieces. They then assembled the tables on September 27, 2016


Jack's Eagle Project




Scouts met at Trinity United Methodist Church on May 7, 2016, under Jack's leadership to build storage shelves for the preschool.  Some Scouts helped pre-cut wood the night before to aid in assembly.


Robert's Eagle Project




On April 23, 2016, Scouts met to construct shelves and other items for Johnson Elementary School. The shelves will be used to hold gloves and jackets and other donated items. Robert also lead Scouts in building pieces for renovating an area called "JJ's Cafe" at Johnson Elementary School. 


Aric's Eagle Project




We had a great turn out for Aric's Eagle project on Saturday morning, August 8.  Scouts built wood duck houses that were installed at Powhatan State Park on August 22nd.  

It rained a little as Scouts assembled the wood duck houses, including sides that open to clean out the houses and a screen on the inside for the baby ducks to use to climb out of the houses. The houses must be made of cedar.


Will M's Eagle Project




Scouts gathered to build duck boxes on August 15, 2015 for Will M's Eagle project. Alot of Scouts came to help, and they enjoyed making the boxes, which were constructed of cedar. Scouts installed the boxes at Deep Run Park on September 2, 2015.
