What is Scouting for Food?

In the Law of the Pack, a cub scout gives good will and in the Boy Scout Oath, a boy scout promises to help other people at all times.   By participating in a Scouting for Food program, scouts come a step closer to fulfilling those words.

Across the country, in many councils and districts, thousands of troops and packs with millions of scouts involved collect tens of millions of pounds of food which is distributed to needy neighbors.

In Richmond, Scouting For Food is the largest individual food drive for FeedMore. FeedMore serves neighbors across Central Virginia's 31 counties and 5 cities, spanning nearly one-third of the state. The success and growth of Scouting For Food is needed more than ever. The Heart of Virginia Council encourages all Scouting units to participate in this annual service project, now in its 27th year.
