Troop 770's newest Eagle Scouts: Trey & Anthony

Check out the latest News From Troop 770:

Scouts & Parents,

I hope everyone is adjusting to getting back to school! The PLC met last week on Monday, August 31 and came up with some great plans for the year! We will be camping at First Landing this month, and future camping trips in 2015 will include backpacking and caving!  Other ideas for trips and events include fishing, canoeing, rock climbing, skiing, and more. They also discussed working on a couple of new merit badges.  It's going to be a fun year.

We will have our first Troop Meeting this Sunday, September 13th at 4:00 pm.  We will have Troop elections, so Scouts should be thinking about whether they need a troop leadership position for advancement (First Class and above). Once we elect patrol leaders, Scouts will begin thinking how to best reorganize the patrols (which may be continued on the camping trip).  Parents, please plan to come at 5pm for a quick parents meeting and let us know what positions on the Troop Committee you can help with. The list of Troop Committee Positions is here

The Troop will be camping at First Landing State Park this month, September 25-27. We will be going down Friday evening, but feel free to come down and join us Saturday if you cannot make it Friday evening. Be sure to Sign Up here.  Cost is $25 per Scout. We will work on advancement and enjoy activities on the beach..

New Scouts: Be sure to turn in your application and Medical Form if you have not done so. We will need the medical form before the camping trip.

Our Treasurer, Stephanie Evans, has some ideas for Fundraising. Expect an email from her as well as a presentation at the Parent's Meeting. The Troop will be selling Krispy Kreme Doughnut cards to raise much needed Troop funds! These funds are used to offset the costs of rank patches, merit badges, camping trips, and troop supplies and equipment.  Thanks for your work on this, Stephanie!

I look forward to a great meeting Sunday!
