Scoutmaster's Message

Scouts & Parents,

I hope everyone had a great summer. The Troop was very active during the summer attending summer camp at Bayport and completing several Eagle Projects. Three of our Scouts will be receiving their Eagle rank on September 20!

As you know, the Scouts decide what we do! We will have a PLC meeting tonight at RRPC at 7pm to start planning the year, such as what we will do at meetings and where we will go camping. We will test out having the PLC meetings on Sundays at the camping trips. If this works out, we can avoid having a separate PLC meeting during the week.

Parents--we will have a parents meeting at 5:00pm on Sunday, September 9, 2015.  We need to fill Troop Committee positions, so please be thinking about what you can do to help make the most of the Scouting experience for your son.

If you have not already, please check out Scoutbook to be sure we have everything up to date. If you need me to send you another invite to connect via Scoutbook, please let me know.

Andrew Rountree is now our Advancement Coordinator.  You may give him your blue cards for merit badges. Also, he will be assisting the Troop in keeping track of rank advancement and getting badges to award.

If you need a Scoutmaster Conference, please let me know. Let Andrew Rountree know if you need a Board of Review.

Thanks, Andrew!!

Our Treasurer, Stephanie Evans, will be sending out an email soon about fundraising.  We'd like to raise some funds so we have plenty to start the year. Dues will not be paid until closer to the end of 2015, so we will need funds to buy rank patches, merit badges, and other awards earned by and presented to our Scouts as well as Troop camping equipment and supplies. The current idea is for Scouts to sell Krispy Kreme doughnut cards, but more soon from Stephanie! Thanks, Stephanie!

Thanks! I look forward to a great Scouting year!
