Scoutmaster's Message

Scouts & Parents,

Scouts worked on advancement yesterday, and a couple were signed off for everything for the next rank. Please let me know if you need your Scoutmaster conference!

Some Scouts did not have their handbook at the meeting. Scouts will need to have their handbooks at all meetings and camping trips so they can advance (otherwise, we can't sign them off on their progress). We don't want to overlook anyone who has completed a requirement!

Be sure to sign up for Peak Experiences Saturday, Jan 31st. Details are in this newsletter--I will need one parent to go with us and need waivers from all climbers: Peak Waiver

I am pleased to report that my neighbor and friend, Dave Martin, will be joining Troop 770 as a committee member. Dave is an Eagle Scout and currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Heart of Virginia Council.  Some of you got to meet Dave yesterday when he came to help with Boards of Review. Please join me in welcoming Dave to our troop.

For advancement/merit badges, Scouts have another opportunity to get an Eagle-required badge. Mrs. Lustig has arranged for a First Aid merit badge class to be held at RRPC on February 16. See below for details--there is one prerequisite. Also note that Scouts should be working on the requirements for the 3 Citizenship badges that we cannot do in our weekly meetings. They are all listed below and on the websitePlease let me know if you have any questions about those requirements. Once they are completed, please see me or Mr. Adams so we can review them with the Scout and sign them off!

Below is the advancement I have for the upcoming Court of Honor (not counting the 6 Eagle ranks being awarded!). Please let me know whether I am missing any of your ranks or awards. I don't want anyone to be left out!

Next Sunday Feb 1 is a PLC meeting. I look forward to working with our PLC to plan out a great remainder of the Scouting year!
