Scoutmaster's Message

Scouts & Parents,

We had a good meeting yesterday where Scouts finished all of the requirements for the Citizenship merit badges that we could accomplish in our regular meetings.  There are additional requirements that Scouts must do on their own--see below for details.  Once a Scout has completed these items and reviewed them with me or Mr. Adams, they will have earned the badge.

The Troop has a busy January and February! A few Scouts will be going to Winter Camp next weekend (I will be at the camp, so there is no Troop meeting Jan 18).  Climbing at Peak Experiences is our January event.  We have a huge Eagle Scout ceremony and Scout Sunday/Court of Honor planned for February 8. Then, the Troop is tagging along with Troop 702 for a ski trip February 22, and we have our annual Hampden-Sydney Merit Badge College weekend on February 28-March 1. Be sure to sign up for all the fun!

We will be having Boards of Review for Scouts needing to rank-up at our weekly meeting January 25th. Parents, I will need your assistance since Scoutmasters/Assistant Scoutmasters cannot sit on a BOR. Also, February 1 will be a PLC meeting--I need all the PLC members to come ready with their ideas for upcoming meetings and camping trips/events.

I want to thank everyone for their willingness to assist me as I continue to learn the the job of Scoutmaster. We have a great group of parents/adult leaders and Scouts!
