Scouts & Parents:

We had a great first meeting of the year yesterday with Scouts and parents, and I am looking forward to a great Scouting year!  We have the potential to have seven Scouts earn the rank of Eagle Scout this year, which is an incredible achievement!

We have many exciting events on the schedule this year from a Canoe Trip on the James River, caving in Bath County, skeet shooting, rock climbing, and many more!  These are all events selected and planned by our Scouts!

We also have a wonderful, dedicated group of parents. Thank you all for volunteering to fill all of the Troop Committee leadership positions in our troop.  We could not run the troop without all of the parent volunteers on the Troop Committee and the parents who volunteer to drive and camp with the Scouts on our camp outs.

The Scouts all say one thing when we ask them what their favorite part of Scouting is: camping!  "Scouting is outing", as they say.  To make our camp outs great and to keep the boys advancing we not only need parent volunteers, but we need Assistant Scoutmasters.  Remember to be thinking about being an Assistant Scoutmaster! Having ASMs to teach and guide the Scouts is vital to the Troop!
